The flower form was inspired by lillies of the valley. The petal form is a stylized take on rose leaves.
The entire carving process was reductive and done using a dremel. A rough shape was carved and details were added onto this. Amethyst was used for the flower to give it a slightly transparent look that contrasts with the opaque petals. The flower was attached to the leaves using epoxy and by carving the pieces to fit snugly. A wire was also attached so that the carving could be wrapped around a necklace chain.
